India, July 2013

Wendy and I visited India in July 2013. We began in Pune, where I attended the conference Advances in Robotics (thanks to the Robotics Society of India for inviting me), and then we had a week or so of tourism: Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Below, you'll find links to some photos.

To the left -- dinner in a rooftop restaurant in Jaipur (you might notice... there was some sort of peacock theme).
  • Agra: Agra is a small city, situated about 125 miles south of Delhi. Here you'll find photos of the Taj Mahal (including a few details of the marble inlay work), the Baby Taj, the Agra Fort, and our deluxe hotel (which cost about the same per night as the Ramada Inn in Sellersburg, Indiana).
  • Jaipur: Here you'll find photos of the Monkey Temple (and lots of monkeys), the Amber Fort of Jaipur, scenes from a monsoon, the Jaipur Bazaar, Gaitore, and plenty of animals.
  • Delhi: We didn't spend so much time in Delhi, but we managed to visit the Old Fort, the National Museum, and Qutub Minar. Also... there was some shopping at the Dilli Kaat.
  • Advances in Robotics: Here, you'll find a few photos from the conference.

In case you just don't have the motivation to click through to the different albums,
here are a few photos that I particularly like.

At the Baby Taj. Cakes! Indian Finery. After the Monkey Temple ... looking out over Jaipur
